I am Determined, Strong, Resilient Survivor

You’re a survivor so now what!? Life after cancer is a whole new chapter for the new survivor. It can be both exciting and nerve-wrecking. Take a deep breath and be kind to yourself during this process. Don’t expect to feel great about everything. It will take time. Don’t be too hard on yourself and have expectations that everything will be back to normal. Normal…what’s that? I know…I hear you! You’ve been through a life-altering journey. Go slowly with your life, so you can come to terms with all that you have been through. You’ll find a new routine and a new normal in time — and perhaps something new that will help you cope with life after cancer.  Just keep pressing on!

My suggestions/tips:

1. Take it one day at a time
2. Give yourself time to adjust
3. Spend some time outdoors – have some fun
4. Find a hobby
5. Get your exercise
6. Don’t dwell on what you can’t do but on what you can do
7. Expect both good days and challenging days
8. Be patient with yourself
9. Join an in-person support group
10. Use this time to learn what really matters to
11. Keep a journal or blog
12. If you feel depressed or anxious, please talk to your doctor, a good friend or consider a therapist.
13. What are your tips?

Remember, the same way you fought cancer with determination is the same way you should consider facing life after cancer. After all, you’ve come a long way! ~All the best, Ann (Lymphoma Survivor and Lymphoma Club Founder)
